The Cabin 4 Hillbillies

Camp is many things. It is the enjoyment of an active day, the excitement of Olympics, the experience of learning, and the thrill of a musical production. Surely the many-sidedness of camp is reflected by Cabin 4. From athletics to theatre, these girls have displayed interest and aptitude.

No one can argue Eileen Kent's flair for drama, as clearly seen in the camp's production of "How to Succeed." Eileen is also something to see on the volleyball court, if she stands still long enough for one to try. Lonny Koppell combines athletic ability with girlish grace. On the subject of athletics, Pat Selden's name is a must. An all-around camper, Pat seems to be able to both enjoy and learn simultaneously. The word enjoyment brings to mind one Lois Taras. Lois brings with her vitality and enthusiasm to all facets of camp life. Juli Noti seems also to have great capacity for enjoyment. Julie has displayed her quickness for learning and participation from the tennis courts to the Mar-Lin stage. Robin Stieber seems to excel in particular areas. A fine horsewoman and good swimmer, "cute as a button," Robin is an example of camp versatility. Sue Michaelson is always ready to try something new from hair-dos to waterskiing. Sue's open eagerness is always refreshing. Nancy Pindus carries on the family tradition of good fun and sportsmanship. Although Karen Meyer spent only one month with us, her progress in camp skills left a lasting impression.

A perfect bunk? Not quite. They can get into(to quote an authority on them) "rambunctious moods". But the good sportsmanship and essential fun of camp is always present. The Hillbillies are as much a part of Camp Mar-Lin as the activities mentioned aforehand. Camp is many things. But in the final analysis, Camp is a group of girls who can proudly be called "campers."
