Esoterica

Gee, webmaster, thanks for the cleanup. What is a webmaster anyway?
Sounds like a bad character in a Nintendo game.
Went back through these archives for the first time. LP is a right-on
guy---we need more humorous touches like yours, LP.

1) Who was the only staff member allowed to drive the little yellow
school bus?
2) What did we make in Arts and Crafts other than lanyards?
3)What did you have to do to get into the third crib?
4) Did anyone other than the Boston Pops play at Tanglewood?
5) In what year did Kathy Stoned Philips lose her sense of humor?

Have a good weekend. See you in 6 months.

The pool will be closed for a couple of days for cleaning. If you need us
we will be in the brook. If you really need to swim...try the lake. Or,
if it's beach you want...head to Joe's.

Potpourri

Well. there seems to be some life on this site after all.
For those who care, if memory serves me right , we ate the following:
Thursday night was spaghetti withsort of a meat sauce. Friday lunch was
mystery meat bag lunch, and sometimes peanut butter and jelly. Friday
night was chicken. Saturday breakfast was straight toast (I can't
remember hard-boiled eggs), Sunday lunch was pot roast (Charley swore it
was roast beef). And Sunday night was gobs of gooey macaroni and cheese.
Of course the menu may have been different before I got to Mar-Lin or
after I left.
Chuckwagon dinner was hot dogs and those fabulous baked beans, with stale
potato chips and some sort of pickle.
Charley always got the kitchenhelp from the Salvation Army---the bus
station was too tacky and the local jail had too much class.
Bugjuice didn't come in flavors, merely colors. There was red. orange,
green, light purple, and dark purple.

The best in anything is too subjective, so we won't go

Shalom Y'all

Anybody know the whereabouts of Kenny Denino?
We invited him to the Manhattan reunion, but he was having some personal
problems and could not come. I sorta lost his last address. Thanks and
love to all. P.S. If anyone can guess my campaign
slogan when I ran for my brother, David (waiter) for Topsy Turvy day in
1972, I will personally bring them a chocolate shake from Johnny Rockets,
Memphis. Void where prohibited; Penzell and family members prohibited.
Love to you all! Bruce Newman

Old Friends

Dear Old Friends,
Greetings.
I generally don't think about my wasted youth,
but this web site forced me back in time and I
would be happy to speak with anyone who remembers
me. My cousin Randy organized a reunion several years ago but didn't
invite me.

I joined the Hare Krishna Movement in l970 and have been married to a
wonderful devotee named Jambavati devi dasi for 24 years. We have three
lovely daughters, Janaki 17, Sudamani 14 and our
youngest Mallika 7.
I just returned from a three month visit to India and England where I did
a small lecture tour on
Eastern religion and the science of bhakti yoga.

If anyone is in the New York area or would like to
communicate with me I'd be most happy. I have less
hair but a more cheerful spirit. When I shave it
every two weeks the little grey stubble peeking out disappears and I look
almost like I did when I
was at camp, except for many pounds more earth added to my material body.

I remember most of you and I know that I

Happy Thanksgiving to all campers, counselors, and staff!

Watch the mail (and this website, too) for an update on the reunion.

I spoke to Aunt Ethel recently. She and Charley are thrilled that we are

more ridiculous shit

With Thanksgiving almost upon us, its time for some food questions.
1) What did we have to eat at the following meals: Thursday dinner,
Friday lunch, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Sunday lunch, Sunday
dinner?
2) Name five different supposed flavors of bugjuice.
3) What was the typical menu at a chuckwagon dinner?
4) Where did Charley go to hire the kitchen help?
5) Who was the best athlete ever at Mar-Lin? Who was the best at Arts &
Crafts?

Glad to see a little more in the way of responses. By the way, Jeff
Berger was right on the way to the General Store. Everyone was seen at
the Yale Bowl. And Larry Phillips never was allowed to have a girlfriend
(Kathy included). Dora approved of that!

Finally a response. Its really dead out there. Where are all the campers?
The answers are: 1) The grinder place was called Tommy's 2) The beer was
hidden in the creek behind the rec hall by the little field 3) The strike
was indeed in 1968.

Here are three more---and will someone please answer:
1) What was the best way to sneak out to the General Store?
2) Who did we see at the Yale Bowl?
3) How many years did Larry Phillips attend camp before he was allowed to
have a girlfriend? And how many did Dora approve of?

Anyone feel free to join in. See you in 7 months.

them?

I have been very impressed with them. They are in Beach Lake, PA. About 2
1/2 hours from me. Closer for you. If you need any info - let me know.
